DuPont™ ResisTech® Chosen for the New CSC headquarters

Release date: February 2003

Client: DuPont

Title: DuPont™ ResisTech® Chosen for the New CSC headquarters

The new DuPont™ ResisTech® maintenance system, developed to maximize the durability and looks of carpet in heavy traffic areas, has been chosen for this latest prestigious installation.

The new headquarters complex for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) business in Europe, Middle East and Africa is located at the historic Royal Pavilion site in Aldershot.

This site originally contained a hilltop pavilion for Queen Victoria, from which she inspected the troops. Four office blocks radiate out in a concentric arc nestling into the hillside and placed at irregular intervals to accommodate the rich inheritance of exotic and specimen trees.

Flooring for these offices was selected from Shaw Industries who created bespoke carpet tiles using hard wearing DuPont™ nylon in colours which reflect the interior materials. DuPont™ nylon 6.6 fibres are engineered for durability in busy office locations, and the solution dyed BCF yarns used also ensure resistance to spillages and sunlight.

As part of their regular maintenance for this exciting new working environment, Johnson Controls Ltd, who manage the building for CSC, selected the new DuPont™ ResisTech® maintenance system provided by PCMS of Crawley.

DuPont™ ResisTech® is a revolutionary new technology that not only deep cleans the carpets but also gives the fibres an invisible non-stick surface. The result is that carpets re-soil more slowly, and dirt and stains are easier to remove, so carpets retain their as new looks. PCMS offer a nationwide service and are the first European licensee for ResisTech®. Paul Pierce, CSC European Property Director, is delighted with the results achieved by this combination of DuPont™ technologies which will help ensure that this building continues to deliver a stimulating environment for employees and clients.
